Successful rehabilitation and release of Australia's birds of prey
About the Project
Raptor Refuge is a dedicated 20-acre facility that provides care, rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned birds of prey. Constructed in 1997 Raptor Refuge has the largest flight aviary in Australia and offers education and awareness programs to the public, aimed at promoting conservation and the importance of raptor preservation.
Tas Walking Co Foundation provides annual support to Raptor Refuge.
The Solution
Raptor Refuge is expanding its avaries to support the increasing number of raptors needing rehabilitation and medical care from collision with vehicles, electrocution from power lines, and poisoning.
